While most individuals who use Bayt Classifieds and its affiliates have success with buying, selling, renting or connecting with others, classifieds websites are not immume from people trying to scam or defraud our users. The best way for you to stay immune to these scammers is to use common sense, and primarily, to ensure that all transactions take place locally and in-person. The beauty of Bayt Classifieds is that we are a local classifieds marketplace, so list local, buy and sell local, and transact in-person. Keep in mind, we don't review Ads before they go live.
Please take the following precautions while using Bayt Classifieds
- Bayt Classifieds is all about local. When buying or selling, you should meet in-person to see the product and exchange funds.
- Pay in person. Never send or wire money to sellers or buyers that you don't know. This includes mailing checks and using payment services.
- We don't offer at this time a payment system to process your transactions with sellers. Neither do we offer any sort of protection programs. If anyone sends you an email that says that Bayt Classifieds or its affiliates do so, even if it looks like the email is from us, this is a scam. Please forward the message to us.
- Keep your info private and secure. Never provide your personal or banking information (e.g. credit card number) to others over the Internet. Never give out your Bayt.com password, even if asked to do so in an email supposedly sent by Bayt.com employees.
- Make yourself aware of common scams and fraud. Do not believe the promise of large sums of money for your help in any task. These emails sound good but are pure scams.
- Inform Bayt Classifieds of any attempted fraud or suspicious emails, ads, or other activity by community members. In case of fraud, file a local police report and contact us immediately.
- Use common sense. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
